No it’s not uncommon to have a little bit of snow in May here in Colorado but in all 5 years that I’ve lived here I’ve never seen a snow storm quite like this in May. We’ve always been told to wait until Mother’s Day to plant your garden and flowers and since it was 80 degrees this past weekend and Mother’s Day we couldn’t resist. Next year, we’ll resist. I don’t care if it’s 90 degrees. Mother nature has a sense of humor here in Denver and next year we are waiting until Memorial Day. Hopefully some of our plants will survive the 5-6 inches of super heavy wet snow that dumped on us overnight. We’ll see!
I do love the crazy swings of weather we have and wouldn’t have it any other way. Neither would a certain six year old who lives here. I still can’t believe I had to send him to school in his snow boots!
Below are a few pictures of our spring snow storm that I’m sure will be melted away come tomorrow.
